5. Product Utilization and Aesthetics


a) Efforts are made to achieve good utilization;

b) Carrying capacity and production goals are balanced;

c) Saw log harvests are complemented with pulpwood and chipwood removals as appropriate;

d) Residual materials are either laid down or chipped;

e) Allowances have been made for vistas and appearance;

f) Clearcutting is used only when it is the most appropriate silvicultural practice, and are limited to 80 acres or less; and

g) Recreation and wildlife trails and waterways are free of debris.
